Thrilling experiences from a rather uneventful life.

I seem to be having a run of bad luck with school lately. Maybe it is because they realize that I am starting to look at real four-year institutions and leaving Austin Community College and they want to make my last few semesters a nightmare, but I have had some not so great teachers lately. Last semester wasn't too bad. He was difficult, but he wasn't a bad teacher. The semester before that, though, jeez, I didn't learn anything (but yet still made an A). This semester I am taking Latin which I need if I get accepted into the classics department and don't get forced (because of cost and insane transfer requirements) to go for my plain old history degree. The teacher for this class seems to be quite the disorganized thinker and jumps around a lot forgetting what he is talking about half the time. He also seems to be a big fan of the tangent, which I am not. I'm hoping that this does not become 'teach-yourself-Latin 101'. I can do it, but I have better things to do with my time.

Other interesting happening of my day and great consumer of time was my fridge of three years decided to have some sort of blockage in the ice maker causing a chain of events that lead to my opening the freezer door this morning and getting a stream of water onto my feet as a thank you. I cleaned it all up, but had to empty everything in my refrigerator into the garage fridge (30 years old and very small and crappy) while I cleaned the huge mess. My recycle bin is now full because I didn't want to have to store all of those condiments that we had been keeping around for years, just in case we ever need sliced, pickled jalepenos. After the big defrost it seems to be working fine and should be at the right temperature about now to move everything back, but I remain unconvinced . . . or unmotivated.

Still no news on the camera or I would fill in these turns of conversation with some of the pictures I've been taking lately. I still have the pictures from Seattle filling up my camera, waiting for me to use all the software in my power to convince my computer that I am not kidding, that photos really are coming through that line, but I haven't had time. We still trying to find our groove with me going back to school and Joe still used to me being in night school or off and not having to do as much around these parts. Right now, after I sign off here, I've got to do the 'to-do's. Hopefully, tomorrow's class will be better.
