Walking Backwards

Thrilling experiences from a rather uneventful life.

Just got back from our trip to Houston and I'm just wanting to sit down with a cup of tea and my Northern Exposure videos. Before I forget about it, this weekend's Baker's Dozen:

-1- Before leaving on any weekend trip I try to clean the house and put something in the fridge for us to eat when we get home. I failed on both accounts.

-2- I forgot to water the plants.

-3- I did remember to give the cat extra food and water and packed Nico's toothbrush and special floss.

-4- Friday night I went to go see 'Showgirls' and was reminded of how disturbing that film was. Good and bad jokes abounded.

-5- We left Saturday morning after I had a horrible night's sleep. Damn freakin' medication.

-6- I tried to knit on the way there, but couldn't look at the knitting because it would make me car sick. Instead Joe and I argued about whose musical tastes were better and why I am not stuck in the eighties.

-7- My sister-in-law's shower was fun and she got a lot of good loot. Lots of fun stuff for the kitchen.

-8- Nicholas and Joe stayed at boy base camp at the grandparent's house where Nicholas entertained all by counting to a hundred and showing off his mad calculator skills.

-9- After the shower my mother-in-law and I drove to five different stores to try to find an auto-adjusting wrench for my father-in-law's father's day gift. Every place was sold out and we ended up buying a gift card. When I asked someone at Home Depot if they had any, he laughed at me. It was disconcerting.

-10- Good Night, and Good Luck

-11- Bad night's sleep in a strange bed and I'm exhausted. Nicholas slept poorly, too. What a good mood we were all in on the ride home :)

-12- Joe went to the grocery store and to the rescue and brought us grumps dinner and fruit for breakfast tomorrow.

-13- Two pics for your pleasure and because I can't pick one:

Hruska's is our favorite place to stop between Houston and home. I don't know why, but they are now selling scrapbook supplies (?). We had some beautiful sky to gaze at on our drive, too.

Nicholas was so tired after this weekend that he fell asleep mid-Cheeto. Joe picked him up the snacks at the aforementioned Hruska's and I thought/hoped the thrill of having his special road-snack would keep him asleep until we got home and had dinner. Apparently not.

Comments:
awwww I can't believe he fell asleep that way! Too cute. :)

Great post... bakers dozen is a cool idea, and even though i have no idea who you are, I still got a huge chuckle out of it. Thanks :) and your little man is adorable!
